In a proactive move to empower female students with self-defense skills, the Maharashtra government has rolled out a comprehensive martial arts training program across public and private schools in the state.

This initiative comes as a response to recent concerning incidents, including the tragic murder of a student in a Mumbai hostel.

An administration officer of the education dept has initiated communication with directors of primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools, emphasizing the importance of implementing this program.

This concerted effort underscores the government’s commitment to fostering a safer environment for female students and aligns with broader initiatives to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.
