The Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing Development Corporation (TAHDCO) has tied up
with IT major HCL Technologieds to provide jobs and degrees for scheduled caste and
scheduled tribe youth.

HCL has tied up with big private institutions such as BITS Pilani, Sashtra and Amity to
provide online and offline training off campus for chosen students. Students from SC/ST
communities who scored 60% or more in physics in the Class XII board exams will be
eligible to study B.Sc (design and computing) offered by BITS.

Candidates who secured 60% in mathematics or business mathematics in board exams
can pursue BCA offered by Sastra university and BBA and B.Com offered by Amity
university. Faculty from these institutions will visit HCL offices to conduct the courses or
do them online.

HCL will take chosen students for a six months training programme. Once they complete
it, they will be absorbed as regular employees with HCL and pursue their studies, said a
HCL staff privy to the programme.

The students will be absorbed in entry-level jobs with a salary package of Rs 1.7 lakh to
Rs 2 lakh per annum.

TAHDCO will invite applications from interested candidates and provide them training in
communication skills, logical reasoning and maths to clear the screening examination
that will be conducted by HCL.
