E-bus service to begin in state capital from 1st April
The directorate of transport on Wednesday notified the commencement of operations of a fleet of electric vehicles (EVs) in Panaji and surrounding areas from April 1.
A total of 60 electric vehicles, ranging from large buses to buggies, with a minimum of 44 vehicles, are scheduled to ply at any given time. They will cover a minimum of 500 trips per day, ensuring connectivity for commuters.
The electric fleet includes big bus EVs with a seating capacity of 49 passengers, mini bus EVs accommodating up to 26 passengers, micro bus EVs designed for 14 passengers, and electrical buggies capable of carrying 11 passengers.
