Guwahati residents may get a Durga puja gift as the state government is likely to open the newly constructed flyover, built at a cost of Rs 149 crore, in the Sarbbhati area of the city on October 1.

Meanwhile, the T-20 international cricket match between India and South Africa is
scheduled at Barsapara cricket stadium on October 2. The construction of the flyover, which began in February last year, completed much before the deadline, which was August 2023. The 790-metre two-lane flyover, with a width of 8.5 metre, connects Rehabari to Arya Nagar.

The flyover will help reduce the heavy traffic congestion at the junction of Sarabbhati point, which has been a nightmare for city dwellers for a long time.
