Special toy train service in Coonoor and Ooty from 29th March
As per the latest development, the Southern Railway Salem Division has unveiled plans for a special mountain toy train service that will be running on the Mettupalayam-Ooty-Coonoor-Ooty route, which will be catering to tourists in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu.
The train is scheduled to operate from March 29 to July 1, 2024, with the aim to enthral visitors during the summer season.
Nilgiris, renowned as an international tourist destination, sees the peak tourism season in April and May. Reportedly, this region sees a huge influx of visitors on a daily basis.
