Mumbai's Sion bridge to remain shut for 2 years

The century-old Sion overbridge in Mumbai is all set to be demolished and re-constructed by the Central Railway.  The Mumbai Traffic Police will close the 112-year-old structure, which connects the Sion East and West areas from Thursday, August 1 for two years. Now, the Central Railway, along with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), will build the new bridge, which was a crucial link between Bandra, Dharavi, Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Marg as well as the Eastern Express Highway (EEH).
