In view of upcoming festivals in the city, the Lucknow district administration has decided to impose Section 163 (which was earlier Section 144), which will remain enforced till 13th November, 2024. 

Various festivals like Anant Chaturdashi, Vishwakarma Puja, Sharadiya Navratri, Dussehra, Deepawali and Chhath Puja will be celebrated in September, October and November, and this is why, the restriction has been imposed in the city.

Lucknow Section 163- List of Do’s and Do Nots
1- Ban on gathering of five or more people, taking out processions and demonstrating at public places.

2- Loudspeakers will not be played in religious places from 10 PM to 6 AM.

3- Ban on collection of bricks and stones on the roof of the house.
