The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to revive the Clean-Up Marshal initiative. It was initiated before COVID-19 but had to be suspended due to the pandemic. This initiative aims to maintain cleanliness throughout the city.

Throwing garbage and debris in public places is prohibited in Mumbai. These rules are being widely flouted by some people.

Hence, marshals would be employed to monitor littering and fine violators between INR 200 and INR 1000.
