The Central Railway (CR)'s Mumbai division is going to change its timetable starting in August. The goal is to reduce congestion at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and improve local train services.

Five pairs of fast local trains that currently start and end at CSMT will now originate and terminate at Dadar station. Moving these fast local services to Dadar will increase commuter convenience.

This is because during the evening rush hours, boarding locals from Dadar becomes challenging. Trains departing from CSMT are crowded when they reach Byculla.
